Apples, Apples, Everywhere

This week we are studying apples and will be making applesauce on Thursday! We are focusing on the letter Pp as well as finishing up our work on the numbers 0-10. An easy way to practice the letter P and its sound are to use popcorn. Simply make some popcorn and talk about how it pops or is popping.

T is for Transportation

This week we are focusing on the letter Tt which fits in great with our theme: transportation! Many types of vehicles start with T: trucks, trains, tanks, tanker trucks, transporters, etc. Focus on the T sound if you see one of these vehicles. We are continuing to study the numbers 0-10 and are beginning to focus on the number words.

Mother Goose is Teaching Us!

This week we are studying different nursery rhymes. They provide lots of practice for your child. Our focus letter of the week is H which goes with Humpty Dumpty and Hickory Dickory Dock. We are still practicing counting which is found in One, Two Buckle My Shoe. Three of our four popcorn words (I, little, the) are found in Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Have fun this week revisiting nursery rhymes with your child!

P.S. I will post a slideshow of our dress-up days over the weekend.

G is for Guymon

This week we are spotlighting the letter G. A great way to focus on this sound is to work on where your child lives-Guymon! You can find g's all around town in store names. We are also working on the numbers 0-10 during September. Please practice counting items at home: plates, forks, chairs, etc.
